Objectives of this Role
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid and reliable software delivery
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability
- Automate manual processes to increase efficiency and reduce human error
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and rapid incident response
- Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes and application architecture
- Establish and maintain security best practices throughout the infrastructure and deployment pipeline
- Drive adoption of DevOps culture and practices across the organization
Your Tasks
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI
- Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Configure and maintain cloud services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Implement automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates in deployment pipelines
- Set up comprehensive monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog
- Manage configuration management using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Implement service mesh and API gateway solutions for microservices architectures
- Optimize application and infrastructure performance through load testing and tuning
- Establish disaster recovery procedures and conduct regular backup testing
- Manage secrets and credentials using tools like HashiCorp Vault or AWS Secrets Manager
- Implement infrastructure security hardening and compliance requirements
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response procedures
- Document infrastructure, processes, and runbooks for operational excellence
- Mentor team members on DevOps best practices and tools
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Ruby, or Java)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools
- Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management
- Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA, Azure DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and Function-as-a-Service platforms
- Experience with database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Familiarity with message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)
- Understanding of SRE principles and practices
- Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD or Flux
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing
- Contributions to open-source DevOps projects
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
